1st Saturday of the Month Neighborhood Clean Up

When: Saturday, March 5 · 9:00am - 11:00am

Location: Jacobsen Park @ Hillcrest and Jacobsen

More Info: The Antioch Police Department continues to be a full partner in the “First Saturday Cleanups” which were started by Chief Hyde in May 2008. The only change will be the involvement of the VIPS (Volunteers in Police Service). The cleanups will be coordinated by United Citizens for Better Neighborhoods (UCBN) and the Antioch Police Department Crime Prevention Commission, working in partnership with the Antioch Public Works Department and many community volunteers, especially the outstanding team from the Antioch Target Store.

If the first Saturday date listed above is rained out, we will reschedule to the following Saturday in that month. If that second date is again rained out, that location will be rescheduled for a future month.

Positive Loitering Pizza Party

When: Saturday, March 12 · 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Location: Antioch Skate Park @ 4701 Lone Tree Way (Prewett Water Park)

More Info: The purpose of the event is to be a positive presence in our community by ‘positively loitering’ in areas that have become a less than positive place to hang out. This will be a peaceful gathering, where we will have the opportunity to mix and network with other like-minded Antioch residents who desire to see this park become a safe place to play.

Bring your friends, families and ideas about helping improve the quality of life for residents of Antioch. Lastly, Please bring lawn chairs, drinks, and lots of positive energy and we’ll supply the pizza!

Antioch Police Department Volunteer Orientation

When: Tuesday, March 29 · 4:00pm - 6:00pm

Location: Antioch Police Department Community Room, 300 L Street

Application Deadline: April 12, 2011

This orientation is not mandatory however, valuable information will be provided regarding the functions of the Antioch Police Department, including work schedules, assignments, the background investigation on applicants, interview process and Volunteer Academy.
